Engineered microbiomes in the CASBAH: current efforts and future directions

The first of what will be an ongoing series of technical meetings between CASBAH partners. The agenda will include:

  • Technical talks covering CASBAH research on human and animal microbiomes (e.g., gut and skin), environmental microbiomes (e.g., soil, marine, and the built environment) and microbiome engineering methods
  • Presentations and discussion on the ethical, legal and social implications of microbiome engineering and deployment
  • Panel discussion on the possibility and value of a CASBAH engineered microbiome research strategy
  • Posters and happy hour

The meeting will be a closed event, with registration only possible for those whose emails are on the invite list. However, anyone in the general Capital Region that’s actively conducting research in synthetic biology or related fields and is interested in engineered microbiome research is welcome and encouraged to participate. If you have not already received an emailed invitation, please contact the organizers at CASBAH@jhuapl.edu to get on the list.
